The 2014 IOM class Malta National Championships were held this year at St. Thomas Bay over 2 full days of sailing on 17 and 18 May. All extremes of weather were encountered, after a mild and sunny Saturday with light and variable winds when the course was changed numerous times we then sailed on Sunday with strong Easterly winds which brought a large chop into the bay and either rig number 2 or 3 was the prefered racing suit.
Darren sailed incredibly well over the 2 days and easily won the Championship and as such, becomes the 2014 Malta IOM Class National Champion.
Alan came second and Albert came third overall. Congratulations to Darren and well done to Alan and Albert.
The total number of races was over 40 which is quite a feat for a 2 day event. Unfortunately the Heat Management System only caters for up to 40 races so it is not possible to post an offical score card on this web page. However, below are a selection of photos kindly submitted by Rosette Micalleff.
